We offer online training courses in NGO management, soft skills, conflict resolution, training of trainers and refugees and IDPs, to help improve your knowledge and skills to work in the development cooperation and the humanitarian aid field. The trainings are in a self-study format and include additional material and an end-of-training exam.

Refugees and IDPs – Core course on displaced persons
Designed to provide answers to basic questions professionals and volunteers have when approaching refugee-related issues, this course is a introduction to the complex subject of refugees and IDPs. It covers a wide range of topics from building a refugee camp, common psychological and medical problems, different case studies, to the causes of displacement, or globalization and forced migration. Refugees and Repatriation – understanding the problem and the solutions
For many volunteers and professionals from NGOs and international organisations working to ease the situation of the millions of refugees in the world implies as well understanding the solutions proposed and carried out by countries, governments and international bodies, such as UNHCR, to repatriate or resettle the displaced populations. This course gives an overview of the repatriation policies from international bodies, the repatriation history from the last decades, current practices, resettlement and examines the case of former Yugoslavia. International Humanitarian Relief: Improving coordination among organisations in the field
The course seeks to analyze and explain how the international humanitarian system has to improve the coordination and cooperation between major humanitarian relief agents during complex humanitarian emergencies in these days and what has been done in the past to achieve it. We will describe how the way coordination among organizations is managed has an impact in the overall response to complex humanitarian emergencies. More info and registration
Soft Skills and Management Abilities in NGOs
Become a perfect NGO manager. This training provides the tools and techniques to improve your skills in a wide set of topics such as project management, team leading, handling conflicts, effective meetings, effective communications, negotiation techniques, self-management, etc. It has been designed for everyone working within an organisation having to deal with projects, colleagues, tasks, priorities and goals to achieve.
Becoming a Professional Trainer

This course is designed to help the individual who is not (or at least not yet) a professional trainer. The focus is on the supervisor, manager or brand new trainer who has been asked to present or train a group of individuals; a task for which he or she has little prior experience. This on the job training can strike fear into the heart of the most skilled and experienced employee.
Conflict Resolution, learning to deal with difficult people and situations
Since you can’t prevent conflict, the most important thing is to learn how to handle or manage it in productive ways. What is critical for resolving conflict is developing an understanding of, and a trust in, shared goals. This training teaches you several strategies for coping with conflict and dealing with people and difficult situations. Knowing when and how to use these techniques can make you a more effective leader.

How do the online self-study courses work?
Exactly as a normal course. Once you have registered you will have access to all the training material and you can download it to your computer. You can study the material at your own rhythm and pace depending on your schedule and send your questions or doubts via email to our training department. -
How do I get a diploma?
Together with all the training material you will find an exam. After having completed the course, you can take the exam and send it to us. After correction we will send you the certificate of completion. -
What is the deadline to finish the training and send the exam?
There is no deadline, it all depends on your schedule. Whenever you finish studying, you can send the exam to us. -
How can I subscribe to the courses?
Very easy. Just follow the instructions at the end of each course page. -
Is it possible to ask questions and resolve doubts?
Anytime! The only thing you have to do is to send us an email to respect(at)respectrefugiados.org and we will answer you asap. -
How do I have access to the training material after subscribing?
Once you will make the payment, the system will send you an automatic email with a link from where you will be able to download the course material. -
Can I add these courses to my CV?
Of course! Apart from what you are going to learn, a diploma will certify your participation and succesful completion after the final exam. Moreover RESPECT Refugiados is an NGO registered in Spain as an educational organisation and recognised by the Council of Europe, so our trainings do have international recognition.
